I had a similar problem initially on my VAIO 505FX using the official Debian-2.0 CDs (Lehmann, Germany). However, in my case I could correctly boot from floppy, just the harddisk boot showed the reboot^* problem ... Anyway, the problem went away completely for me, when doing the install from scratch using the rescue-floppies et al from Joey Hess' stable-update pages. Recommended. == Uwe ==
