I happen to have had some (insider) info into the tech support world of SONY and you are correct. The support stops for all practial purposes once the Vaio leaves the states. Having been one of those people that say "Hello, Thank you for calling Sony, this is ******, how may I help you?" I personally will never buy a SONY VAIO
SORRY off Debian topic but it hit home. TOSHIBA 400CDT I picked up in a junk pile at work. Any known problems/ workarounds to getting DEBIAN working on it. I'm going to install tonight if I get a chance, or tomorrow. TIA for any tips. JJN
