Have you tried the OSS sound utility (see links below)? I have (at this moment) SuSE 6.1 on a Toshiba 2515CDS laptop and the OSS method was alot less of a hassle (not encouraging you to quit kernel-hacking/thinking) than going through the OSS options in the 2.2.* kernel config. Now that I'm almost ready to try Debian, I may also need another solution? Here are some useful links: http://www.opensound.com/ http://www.4front-tech.com/ Cheers, Jeff -- -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Jeff Rose Everyone's Linux User Group (ELUG) http://www.elug.org mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] [Gtk]ICQ Page: http://wwp.mirablis.com/10400141 [G(nu/NotAOL/M$/etc.)]AIM: JeffRoseFL PGP public key available: finger:[EMAIL PROTECTED] eFAX: (630) 604-4130 -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
