You're going to have to reinsert the i810 module with proper clocking parameter.

I'm pretty sure you just:

rmmod ac97_codec
rmmod i810_audio
insmod i810_audio clocking = 48000
insmod ac97_codec

I'm not certain that it is in that order, but that clocking parameter is the key.

Let me know if it works.

No, sorry..

Hi List,

I am not sure if this is strictly related to laptops but this is happening on mine!

For some reason my sound is 'slow' I am running OSS, my card is an intel:
0000:00:1f.5 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corp. 82801CA/CAM AC'97 Audio Controller (rev 02)

modules used are soundcore ac97_codec i810_audio
dmesg shows:
Intel 810 + AC97 Audio, version 0.24, 21:43:34 Jan 21 2004
PCI: Setting latency timer of device 00:1f.5 to 64
i810: Intel ICH3 found at IO 0xe100 and 0xe000, MEM 0x0000 and 0x0000, IRQ 11
i810_audio: Audio Controller supports 6 channels.
i810_audio: Defaulting to base 2 channel mode.
i810_audio: Resetting connection 0
ac97_codec: AC97 Audio codec, id: CRY52 (Cirrus Logic CS4299 rev D)
i810_audio: AC'97 codec 0 supports AMAP, total channels = 2
i810_audio: setting clocking to 33942

could it be this last line causing the problem? if so is there a way of configuring this?

Hope someone can help..!

(I know I should really be running ALSA however when installed it doesn't seem to detect my soundcard..)

If you have any ideas please cc me as I only seem to be getting about one in three emails sent to this list at the moment..

Cheers,

Ben.
