this is my configuration in /etc/network/interfaces iface home inet dhcp wireless-essid (ssid) wireless-key (wireless key) pre-up /opt/cisco/bin/bcard I bring the interface up with ifup eth2=home. The same conf file works with kernels 2.4.25, 2.4.27 and 2.6.6. I need to run bcard (a cisco utility), otherwise even the other kernels don't work.
