All, I'm running Debian 3.0r1 (Woody) on a Dell Latitude D800 laptop. I've just recently noticed that acpid is comsuming approximately 95% of CPU time (as reported by GKrellM and top). I've running a custom kernel built from backported sources (backports.org) for 2.4.26, and have loaded kernel modules for i8k, ac, battery, button, fan, etc. I'm running acpid 1.0.1-3 on a kernel built from kernel-source 2.4.26-5, and lsmod reports:
