Hi, I am trying to get cpufreq working on my laptop. However, the cpufreq interface in /proc is not available:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ls -lisa /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/ insgesamt 0 33 0 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 0 2004-05-25 19:08 . 20 0 drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 0 2004-05-25 19:08 .. I use the debian package "kernel-image-2.6.6-1-386". When to modprobe speedstep-centrino, I get: schlepptop:/home/jens# modprobe -v speedstep-centrino insmod /lib/modules/2.6.6-1-386/kernel/arch/i386/kernel/cpu/cpufreq/speedstep-centrino.ko FATAL: Error inserting speedstep_centrino (/lib/modules/2.6.6-1-386/kernel/arch/i386/kernel/cpu/cpufreq/speedstep-centrino.ko): No such device Isn't that the right module for centrinos (Pentium M)? CPU throttling using acpi seems to work though: schlepptop:/home/jens# cat /proc/acpi/processor/CPU0/throttling state count: 8 active state: T0 states: *T0: 00% T1: 12% T2: 25% T3: 37% T4: 50% T5: 62% T6: 75% T7: 87% Any suggestions?
