Now, how to get rid of "eth2" which was the pcmcia 802.11 card but no longer exists and is not in the interfaces file? Neither did I find any mention of it with "grep eth2 /etc/* and /etc/*/* and a few more itterations to get down into all the subdirectories. Maybe it's because it was there the first time I booted 2.6 with all its hardware discovery.... # ifconfig -a eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 08:00:46:A8:D8:D1 BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b) Interrupt:11 Base address:0x2000 eth1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:02:8A:94:48:01 inet addr:192.168.1.12 Bcast:192.168.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 inet6 addr: fe80::202:8aff:fe94:4801/64 Scope:Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:726581 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:540203 errors:47 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:793733906 (756.9 MiB) TX bytes:249004476 (237.4 MiB) Interrupt:10 Base address:0x1000 Memory:d4006000-d4006fff eth2 Link encap:UNSPEC HWaddr 08-00-46-03-01-68-E1-65-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00 BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b) lo Link encap:Local Loopback inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0 inet6 addr: ::1/128 Scope:Host UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1 RX packets:222 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:222 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:12252 (11.9 KiB) TX bytes:12252 (11.9 KiB) sit0 Link encap:IPv6-in-IPv4 NOARP MTU:1480 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b) -- September 11th, 2001 The proudest day for gun control and central planning advocates in American history -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
