Here's the relevant line from my /etc/fstab /dev/hda1 /mnt/XP ntfs gid=50,umask=027 0 0 resulting in unlimited access for root, read and execute (directory search) access for members of group staff and blocking other users. cf. ntfs section in mount(1). HTH . Siggy
