Many thanks to everybody for the advice. The card is a acx100 chipset, and NOT the prism chipset. Therefore, wlan drivers are not working. Instead, I installed acx100 driver from http://acx100.sourceforge.net and it works! The only thing I had to tweak in their script is setting the channel. Setting the channel hanged the machine for me (kerneel Oops and total freeze), just as one of the bug reports says on their site. Commenting channel setting block in start_net fixes everything. Thanks again and feel free to bug me if anybody has problems with this card.
