I do not have hands on experience with this laptop but some integrated
cardreaders work as an USB storage device, e.g. the Xeron GrafX, which
I have described with Linux at http://tuxmobil.de/xeron_sonic_grafx.html
this is in German, but you will get the picture. So you just have
to configure USB and load the usb-storage module. Then an inserted
card will show up as /dev/sdaX or /dev/sdbX etc. see `dmesg' for
current details.

But there are also some machines around like some Toshiba which use
proprietary cardreaders. I do not know of Linux drivers for them. For
the ACER machine you may try to find a similar model in the UniX
Laptop Survey http://tuxmobil.org/acer.html to get specific
information.
