A couple of weeks ago I got a new Gericom A2 Notebook
(very small sub-Notebook with Transmeta processor, external USB 2 DVD/CD-RW).
Seems like all of the configuration is handled via ACPI. This means without ACPI there will be no or wrong IRQ assignment. Because of this the NIC, USB and so on dont work.
Has any managed to install debian on such a box? Or do you have any hints how to address the problems? (try installing a 2.5 kernel or such)
TIA Alexander Mueller
P.S.: I managed to install debian on the box only with the help of VMware. To accomplish this I partioned the harddisk and installed debian in VMware onto this second partition. Because of the external USB CD-RW I was not able to install it directly.
