Every spammer says that one mail every now and then is not that bad! The belief that you deserve to be the exception to the rule because a small infraction that you commit won't cause a problem as long as no-one else follows your example is the signature of a spammer. I did not join this discussion to bash the people who were originally discussing in Portuguese. I joined in because someone was suggesting that any language should be used (a theory that is a logical extension of your suggestion that a message every now and then is OK). There are several potential approaches to dealing with this problem. One approach is to configure a mail server to silently discard all email from non-English speaking countries. Another approach is to configure a mail server to discard all email that has non-ASCII characters (forcing some people to change the representation of their name because it's normal spelling has accents or is written in an alphabet with >26 characters). Both of these methods are being actively used in the fight against spam and could be adapted to deal with poly-lingual mailing lists. I don't think that such a situation will benefit the people who don't speak English. -- http://www.coker.com.au/selinux/ My NSA Security Enhanced Linux packages http://www.coker.com.au/bonnie++/ Bonnie++ hard drive benchmark http://www.coker.com.au/postal/ Postal SMTP/POP benchmark http://www.coker.com.au/~russell/ My home page -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
