AST Ascentia M Series

Please,

anyone out there got sound working on an AST Ascentia M Series and might be able to throw me a few pointers. All I want is to play midis.

Everything else seems fine under Debian 2.2.20.

I am forced to use XFree86 3.* as there is no support in XFree86 4.* for the Cirrus Logic 7555 video chip ?
