You'll need to upgrade your kernel. I'm running stable & thinkpad-source 3.5-1. There's no such kernel version restriction AFAICT. > $ cat /proc/driver/thinkpad/thinkpad > thinkpad version 4.0 enabled to access modules: smapi superio > rtcmosram thinkpadpm. > > $ cat /proc/driver/thinkpad/smapi > smapi module ver. 4.0 interfacing to 32-bit protected mode > System-Management-API BIOS ver. 1.36 at address 0xc00fe9c4 through > interface version 0.86 > > Re: your XF86Config question, I haven't been running X on my 560 > recently (I use it as a a wireless access point these days), but when > I did, I used the svga driver, not vesa. When I try the svga (actually, vga) driver under XF86v4, I get a letterboxed display, ~320x240 or so (haven't verified that, but it's _small_), which is not useable. Console & 'screen' are giving me more mileage, but there are some apps which simply aren't available. Hopefully this is a temporary condition, so a fix isn't absolutely required, but could be quite nice. Peace. -- Karsten M.
