wasn't it www.linux-laptop.net? OK, I'checked both they work.

Don't trust any manufacturer, also IBM. I brought one as they told on 
their website, that there is a Lucent-Winmodem inside. Instead there 
is a Lucent-Softmodem, which is not working. (See 
.../debian-laptop-200209/msg00291.html)

The Problem is that all manufacturer want to sell as cheap as 
possible. That's why it seems to be impossible to get everything 
working on a laptop.
