Hi, just a couple of weeks ago received mine ... :-) The sound chip actually is made by Intel, so if U're using a 2.4.x kernel the correct module to load would be "sound-intel8x0". U still have to configure Alsa though - just have a look at the example provided in the documentation! Dell uses different kinds of chipsets for their Ethernet/Modem-Combocard, my laptop has a chipset made by 3com - the driver is "3c59x" (Vortex/Boomerang/Tornado) - i'm only using the Ethernet part, don't know if the Modem works at all, sorry! XFree doesn't come with a driver for the NVidia (i got the GeForce2 Go) - but NVidia provides a sufficiently stable driver ... only make sure /not/ to try to suspend the display while running X - this will crash the server!
