Use dselect or apt to install a idepci kernel. You probably used a
kernel version that has SCSI in it. Something like
kernel-image-2.2.20-idepci (or kernel-image-2.4.18-idepci) is what you
want.

Issuing 'apt-get install kernel-image-2.2.20-idepci' should do it.
