Hi, I have problem with the APM on a Inspiron4000. I have to close the lid twice that the system suspend itself. It wouldn't be a big problem but after the resume the X breaks. Only a system reboot can repair it. I use unstabe and Woody Debian with 2.4.18 kernel and I40-A21 bios version.
This option worked before well with any 2.4.x kernel and I40-A05 bios. I had to upgrade the bios because I bought a new battery and it required a bios upgrade.
