Um...  I forgot exactly how to test this sound thingy.  All I know is that 
nothing on the "high end" worked (xmms, KDE sounds, fancy stuff like that) 
and that my logs were completely void of anything useful.

Can you send me the pertinent information from your modutils directory?
And if now that - can you help me remember where the pertinent RTM pages are?
