Does you try finchip command? findchip can detect three kinds of
chipsets (nsc-ircc, smc-ircc, winbond).
Perhaps, your FIR device was recognized as an UART device by
kernel. In that case, you need to disable it (use setserial).
Most certainly way to find is using Windows ;-)
