First, make gpm repeat a protocol like IMPS/2 or ms3 and
set X up accordingly.
Then set this option in your /etc/X11/XF86Config :
ZAxisMapping 4 5
That should let you use it as a scroll mouse ( buttons 4 and 5 ).
