'm running stormlinux/debian potato on a sony vaio 505TR. After a major
effort, I recently got my wavelan pcmcia card to work on this machine last
night... ('ray!!)... the thing I'm trying to figure out now:
when I choose GNOME at boot time, as soon as GNOME starts, a terrifically
annoying, continuous blast of white noise begins pouring out of the
speakers! THis doesn't happen when I run KDE...
any ideas on where to begin troubleshooting this noisy problem?
