Hi, In response to two bug reports, the user name checks in Debian's adduser package have been relaxed. This made it necessary to change the wording of two error messages.
I would appreciate if the language teams could work on translating the new strings and submit the new translations via the Debian BTS. The package itself will be uploaded to Debian experimental later today. Here is the diff: -"$0: ",_("To avoid problems, the username should consist of a letter or -underscore followed by letters, digits, underscores, and dashes. For -compatibility with Samba machine accounts \$ is also supported at the -end of the username\n"); +"$0: ",_("To avoid problems, the username should consist of +letters, digits, underscores, periods and dashes. For compatibility with +Samba machine accounts \$ is also supported at the end of the username\n"); -"$0: ",_("Please enter a username consisting of a lower case letter -followed by lower case letters and numbers. Use the --force-badname' -option to allow underscores, and uppercase.\n"); +"$0: ",_("Please enter a username matching the regular expression configured +via the name_regex configuration variable.
