Source: linux Version: 4.2.6-1 Severity: wishlist
Hey. Not sure if linux is the right source package for this... In several circumstances it would be handy, if there were /vmlinux.<platform> and /initrd.img.<platform> symlinks where each of them points to the most recent installed kernel/initramfs of the respective platform. All the kernel binary packages seem to have the platform already appeneded, e.g. -586, 686-pae, -amd64, s390x and so on. Typical use case would be anything where one wants to get a (ideally the most recent) kernel of a certain platform, e.g. when doing scripting and kexec... or constructing boot loader entries for external devices (e.g. USB sticks) which are not necessary plugged to scan for the actually available versions.
