Thanks for your suggestion. But this uncovered another bug: suspending
also does not work. Again this might be systemd so I used "systemctl
suspend" in recovery mode. Again the console showed systemd freezing all
processes as it should. The system was left hanging at the moment the
kernel should take over. When restarting I found that my system was not
suspended, so I think it is not only the AHCI signal that is not working.
If you need any more information to squash this bug I am happy to
provide it.
