Package: initramfs-tools Version: 0.120 Severity: wishlist
Hi. I just noticed in the changelog that there is /run/initramfs/fsck.log. Awesome :-) But could you please move that to /var/log (and appened entries each run and have it handled by logrotate)? Yes I know, this is from the initramfs where /var/log is not yet ready, but you could e.g. add a late init script/service that makes the move and/or fed it into journald. This would IMHO be quite helpful, because normaly one doesn't look into that file, but may want to check it every now and then (or perhaps automated) whether every any issues ocurred during fsck. Even better, such efforts would be aligned with the log output from any further fsck runs outside of the initramfs, so that there is one central point where people see their fsck results.
