Severity: normal
Hi,
Simplefb support was recently backported to Debian's 3.16 kernel,
including a patch series based on those shown at the top of this log:
https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/log/?qt=range&q=8284731e
but unfortunately one of those patches is missing:
https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=ba168a3c
This would be useful to include because it initialises simplefb earlier
in the boot sequence, so that earlier kernel messages can be printed to
that console. This can be invaluable on devices with HDMI/LCD displays
but without a serial console.
Hans de Goede agreed it would be a good idea:

Please could this patch be included?
Thanks very much,
B.R. Oake.
