Hi,
At some point between the 3.13 and the 3.16 kernels, the ata-piix driver
appears to have broken for my hardware (I don't
have the intermediate versions to check precisely which version it broke at).

Gave up waiting for root device. Common problems:

After this I get some fairly standard text complaining about not finding the
root device and left with a BusyBox prompt.
The system boots fine with a 3.13 kernel (which is what I'm running now in
order to send this report)
I'm happy to give further information on request (please let me know where I
can find the info when asking for it though)
or try out patched kernels (preferably supplied as '.deb' packages please :-) ).
