Package: firmware-iwlwifi Version: 0.36+wheezy.1 Followup-For: Bug #769633 Dear Maintainer, To get Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 wireless network adapter to work, kernel 3.10+ is required (according to http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-034398.htm). However, with kernel 3.16 (latest currently available in wheezy-backports) and firmware-iwlwifi, /lib/firmware/ does not contain iwlwifi-7260-x.ucode -- as a workaround, I needed to download the driver manually from http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/iwlwifi?action=AttachFile&do=get&target=iwlwifi-7260-ucode-22.15.8.0.tgz (linked to by http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-034398.htm) and extract iwlwifi-7260.8.ucode to /lib/firmware. This is fine as a workaround, but I feel this is beyond a typical novice user.
