Package: src:linux
Version: 3.14.12-1
Severity: important

Kernel 3.14-1-amd64 does not boot on laptop Acer B115-M. It stops on "Loading,
please wait" message. The problem is ACPI related, since I can boot adding
"acpi=off" to the kernel line in Grub.

I can boot normally with linux-image-3.2.0-4-amd64 from stable (version
3.2.60-1+deb7u1) and linux-image-3.10-3-amd64 (version 3.10.11-1). In both
cases, the system boot and function normally, except for one ACPI problem: I
have always "ACPI: Battery Slot [BAT1] (battery absent)" (so no
/sys/class/power_supply/BAT1) and I have always "ACPI: AC Adapter [ACAD] (on-
line)" even if the adapter is unplugged (so always
/sys/class/power_supply/ACAD/online = 1, even if unplugged).

If you need additional information, please ask.

Q. Which is the greater problem in the world today, ignorance or apathy?
A. I don't know and I couldn't care less.
