I know nothing about the MIPS boot loader (u-boot?), but if it is already likely to be pointing at the kernel by way of a symlink, maybe: The currently running kernel was booted without an initramfs. You should reconfigure the boot loader to load the initramfs for Linux version @abiname@, and for each later version. This is probably most easily accomplished by using the /initrd.img symbolic link maintained by the kernel package. (Or if the links might be elsewhere, drop the leading /?) Alternatively, if until now the bootloader has probably been pointing directly at /boot/vmlinuz-*, maybe: The currently running kernel was booted without an initramfs. You should reconfigure the boot loader to load the initramfs for Linux version @abiname@, and for each later version. (This maintenance can be simplified by using the /vmlinuz and /initrd.img symbolic links maintained by the kernel package.) Except that wait, does u-boot use /vmlinuz or a special uimage? Is it even u-boot I should be googling?
