Hi fellow geeks, I can confirm this is present with nouveau in ubuntu saucy with linux-image 3.11.0.17.18 and xserver-xorg-video-nouveau 1:1.0.9-2ubuntu1 i396
The same somewhat aged card: GeForce4 MX IGP. Any tips? It displays mostly well, but there are irregular stray lines and random bursts of zig-zag partial whiteouts or screen shakes. It is very unpleasant and disturbing to look at. I tried the 173 and 319 nvidia driver - that stopped the flicker, but screen is only 800x600 and somewhat blurry, like if down-scaled. Not a fix. I tried compiling the 96.43.07 but it keeps complaining of unconfigured kernel source (version.h missing).
