It seems that the i2c_powermac module from 3.4 is now called i2c-powermac (underscore replaced with a minux sign). Manually loading the i2c-powermac module results in fans that run at the normal. expected low speed. I will be adding this to /etc/modules as a workaround for this issue. A question about kernel modules, can one module (eg windfarm_core) be made to depend on and auto-load another (eg i2c-powermac)?
