Package: src:linux Version: 3.10.11-1 Please close bug report #726676 as the observed problem had nothing to do with proxy-arp. The correct diagnosis was provided by John Hughes who filed bug report #729567.
When I used ethtool to turn off the "generic-receive-offload" (GRO)" network device option, the problem with OpenVPN TCP clients having their sessions stall disappeared immediately. The problem is bypassed by having the following statements at the end of `/etc/network/interfaces': post-up ethtool -K eth0 gro off post-up ethtool -K eth1 gro off Since my OpenVPN server runs on a bastion host, I found that I had to disable GRO on both network interfaces to fix the problem. Also, disabling GRO on the OpenVPN server's tunnel devices had no effect in fixing the issue. Thanks to Mr. Hughes for his diagnostic work and for taking the time to notify me. ------ Andris Kalnozols -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-kernel-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
