This looks to be a very similar issue to #714736. It was trying to use version 4.0 w/out kerberos installed and any of the supporting rpc daemons running.
My particular problem stemmed from my autofs setup not having a nfs version specified. When I added nfsvers=3 to the options it stopped hanging. I think the default must have changed from v3 to v4. Anyways, that resolved the issue to my satisfaction and I think this bug was just a configuration issue for me. You may close it at your convenience (and maybe move it to nfs-common or nfs-kernel-server).
