Package: linux-2.6
Version: 3.2.6-1
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
i am unable to mount a filesystem on a known working sata drive in an external
usb enclosure. enclosure is newegg item # N82E16817392032. this is the second
enclosure that i've tried, as i RMA'd the first one thinking it was just
defective. the first one exhibited the same behavior.
i can make a partition label and filesystem using parted (i also tried with
fdisk and mkfs.ext4), but i cannot mount filesystem. i have tried both gpt and
msdos partition layouts, with several different filesystems, but no luck.
xfce does not show the drive when plugged in, nor can i manually mount the
disk. i can list the disk layout with parted or fdisk though.

Hi,
your bug has been filed against the "linux-2.6" source package and was filed for
a kernel older than the recently released Debian 7.x / Wheezy with a severity
less than important.
We don't have the ressources to reproduce the complete backlog of all older
kernel
bugs, so we're closing this bug for now. If you can reproduce the bug with
Debian Wheezy
or a more recent kernel from testing or unstable, please reopen the bug by
sending
a mail to cont...@bugs.debian.org with the following three commands included in
the
mail:
reopen BUGNUMBER
reassign BUGNUMBER src:linux
thanks
Cheers,
Moritz
