Debian on this machine, in general, has always been quite unreliable. Over time, I've gotten all sorts of crashes and hangs. For example, Chromium has crashed and dumped core approximately six or seven times in the past few hundred hours of web browsing.
The previous owner of the machine had problems while using Windows on the same machine.
