Package: src:linux Version: 3.2.41-2+deb7u2 Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
1) In the beginning of November I installed debian squeeze in the desktop, and the video cards given were not appropriate to my system. So I installed the kernel from squeeze-backports along with intel video packages. 2) Later in May (28-29) I decided to dist-upgrade to wheezy and the wheezy stable kernel got installed. 3) In the beginning of June I decided to remove libpulse and some kde packages were also removed. At the time I didn't care much about the kde packages since I am using wmaker. Later I decided to install libpulse since some applications that I needed were requesting for it. 4) All the crashes led my PC to freeze completely, where my keyboard and mouse end being totally inoperational and I could only see a message displayed in console mode. Similarly to a blue screen in windows. Each crash is detailed as follow: a) On the 3rd of June I experienced my first crash, I was simply doing some audio editing in audacity and nothing else. There were some applications opened such as x-chat, pidgin, gedit, kile, okular, google chrome and icedove. b) On the 6th of June I experienced two crashes. The first one I was simply using google chrome and surfing the internet and the applications that were opened included: x-chat, pidgin, gedit, and google chrome. The second crash happened short time after the first one. I only had opened a few consoles, pidgin and xchat. I was trying to find some logs related to the latter crash. The screen error that I experienced during the crash can be found in the following link: http://imagebin.org/260467 Additionally, I am providing the following information: 1) smartctl ==> http://pastebin.com/pCrkCVHw 2) tune2fs ==> http://pastebin.com/gTxi6c4d Best Regards, Joao -- Package-specific info: ** Version: Linux version 3.2.0-4-amd64 (debian-kernel@lists.debian.org) (gcc version 4.6.3 (Debian 4.6.3-14) ) #1 SMP Debian 3.2.41-2+deb7u2 ** Command line: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.2.0-4-amd64 root=UUID=85914095-1a90-4782-a9ad-0551b695d95d ro quiet ** Not tainted ** Kernel log: [ 2.935613] usb 4-1.2: Product: RIM Composite Device [ 2.935615] usb 4-1.2: Manufacturer: Research In Motion [ 2.935618] usb 4-1.2: SerialNumber: E410C9A83669A39DB0EA985262ACD88B3EE56FE9 [ 4.822778] udevd[370]: starting version 175 [ 5.303257] input: Power Button as /devices/LNXSYSTM:00/LNXSYBUS:00/PNP0C0C:00/input/input2 [ 5.303265] ACPI: Power Button [PWRB] [ 5.303331] input: Power Button as /devices/LNXSYSTM:00/LNXPWRBN:00/input/input3 [ 5.303335] ACPI: Power Button [PWRF] [ 5.541775] tpm_tis 00:09: 1.2 TPM (device-id 0xFE, rev-id 70) [ 5.602501] input: PC Speaker as /devices/platform/pcspkr/input/input4 [ 5.626354] ACPI: Requesting acpi_cpufreq [ 5.679409] iTCO_vendor_support: vendor-support=0 [ 5.741833] iTCO_wdt: Intel TCO WatchDog Timer Driver v1.07 [ 5.741934] iTCO_wdt: Found a Cougar Point TCO device (Version=2, TCOBASE=0x0460) [ 5.742226] iTCO_wdt: initialized. heartbeat=30 sec (nowayout=0) [ 5.841914] alg: No test for __gcm-aes-aesni (__driver-gcm-aes-aesni) [ 5.865327] [drm] Initialized drm 1.1.0 20060810 [ 5.928956] i915 0000:00:02.0: setting latency timer to 64 [ 5.953255] mtrr: type mismatch for d0000000,10000000 old: write-back new: write-combining [ 5.953257] [drm] MTRR allocation failed.
