What's really strange: there is totally nothing worth mentioning in the log
files. dmesg.old contains just bootup messages, there is nothing related to the
issue in the syslog, and pm-suspend log file looks pretty normal: all hooks ran
successfully, and the last line says "Performing hibernate...". I've compared
these logs with and without firmware installed (i. e. after successful and
unsuccessful hibernation) and found no differences, except the radeon module
obviously didn't complain about missing firmware in the former case. Looks like
everything works just fine until the very last moment.
By the way, video playback is broken too. No player can output using XVideo.
Needless to say, that disabling KMS solves this too.
