I was referring to [1].  Given how hard this is to reproduce, I guess
it couldn't hurt to try it and 3.2.y again.

Thanks again for ruling out the calibration patches as the fix.  I
don't have any great ideas for what to try next, unfortunately.  I'll
be thinking about it more.
