Although this patch should be trivial to backport to kernel 3.2 without any actual code changes, I'd suggest to wait for feedback about this module first, given that I can neither test this particular hardware myself nor were able to solicit any feedback from the affected persons yet. While reviewing the RC_CORE configuration, it might make sense to enable these Kconfig symbols as well: CONFIG_IR_ITE_CIR=m <-- CIR header on some Asus x86 Mainboards CONFIG_IR_SANYO_DECODER=m <-- just another IR protocol CONFIG_IR_FINTEK=m <-- CIR header on some Jetway x86 mainboards CONFIG_IR_NUVOTON=m <-- CIR header on some ASRock x86 mainboards CONFIG_IR_WINBOND_CIR=m <-- CIR header on some Intel x86 mainboards CONFIG_IR_GPIO_CIR=m <-- probably less common Regards Stefan Lippers-Hollmann
