Hi Jonathan,

in the meantime we got a working patch from Patrick Raithofer. He found the patch in the opensuse git kernel repository:

http://kernel.opensuse.org/cgit/kernel/commit/?id=d536bd9aa634149bb3ac1780452171bcc48b28bf

The patch works well with kernel version 3.6 from git.kernel.org and 3.2.0-0.bpo.3-amd64 from squeeze-backports. Patrick Raithofer also confirms that the patch works well with kernel version 3.6 and the LSI SAS RAID controller on FUJITSU PRIMERGY RX300 S6 server systems.

I think the patch wasn't integrated in development kernel till now. It might be worth to do so.

Many thanks for your help,
Jens
