Package: linux-2.6 Version: 2.6.32-45 Severity: important Tags: squeeze Encountered a soft lockup running the latest stable debian kernel. We noticed this when our server load went to 40, and everything slowed to a crawl. The process it refers to is just a shell script that runs regularly, copying files off the machine to another using scp. I killed the transfer_log_file.sh scripts that were running, to no avail. I would have liked to debug this more thoroughly but we had to get it working again ASAP. The machine had been up for some time and we've had no other similar issues, that I'm aware of.
