Which file has the change you are referring to? "git shortlog v2.6.37..v2.6.38-rc6" doesn't show me anything obvious fitting that description. Sure. The point of bisecting is to find who to ask and to help them start their investigation. Enough time has passed that just reverting the change probably would not work anyway. :) If you have the git-doc package installed, then file:///usr/share/doc/git/html/git-bisect-lk2009.html has an overview.
