Dear Maintainer,
When attaching a FT232RL USB-to-serial converter to the PC, the baud rate is
not (or not always)
initialized correctly (sometimes, the bug only occurs after the device has been
removed
from the USB port at least once).
To reproduce, attach the converter to the PC and measure the baud rate with an
oscilloscope.
- Attach and check the baud rate with stty and the scope. (The rates might
still match at this point)
- Detach from USB and attach again.
- Now, the baud rate reported by stty is still the standard value (500000 for
me), but the converter
actually runs at about 3000000 baud.
- When setting the baud rate to 500000 again, nothing happens (the kernel
probably thinks there is nothing to do)
- To get the device back into sync, you need to set the baud rate to something
different (I tried 115200) and back again.
If the bug is not reproducible right away, leave the baud rate at 500000 and
detach and attach the device
(the displayed baud rate should stay at 500000).
