In the shell I can see, that files are played, but there is no sound. The behaviour of this bug is exactly described as in bug #658728, but I got another hardware (ALC 268). I am sending the output of "alsa-info.sh --no-upload", hope this helps. Sadly I did not find kernel 3.1.0 in the repositories, as it is gone. Seems, backports.debian.org does it yet not offer. Please excuse, that I cannot send an alsa-info with working sound for that reason. :( I still hope, my message can help.
