cteg, Rik, what kernel are you using these days?
I'm now running unstable and the latest kernel from unstable on that machine.
I've never had this issue after switching to a USB keyboard and mouse.
When I find the time, I'll try a PS/2 keyboard (if I can still find one) on
the system again and see if it still locks up.
Now I've made a quick web search, and learned a little more. If the
kernel you currently use is affected, could you try the following and
report back?

And were you able to try the DSDT changes Luca suggested? (If your
BIOS is different from Javier's, I can help out with this.)
Haven't tried this. If I still experience lockups I can give this a try.
