Yes, single WAS there!! Let me double-check...
yes, what I said was what happened. Both single and quiet were there.
The actual line printed was
Starting GNOME Display Manager: gdm3
Then there were a couple of lines that flashed on and off very quickly
-- I saw the words "bluetooth" and "daemon" there. Then a blank screen
with flashing cursor.
Any bright ideas?
