Hi! I would also like to add my +1 vote to enable this option on all architectures.
I can also confirm, that loading this driver no longer redirects console output to the DisplayLink adapter right away. Instead, it is now an option, which is disabled by default. From http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/next/linux-next-history.git;a=blob;f=Documentation/fb/udlfb.txt;hb=HEAD : console Allow fbcon to attach to udlfb provided framebuffers. This is disabled by default because fbcon will aggressively consume the first framebuffer it finds, which isn't usually what the user wants in the case of USB displays. So it seems safe to me, also confirmed by my own testing, to set CONFIG_FB_UDL=m by default. Regards!
